First blog post guidelines

This is where you will write your first blog post.

Start with your guiding question and copy your text from the Google Doc "Blogging Basics" that you wrote earlier.

Before you PUBLISH, check to make sure you have all the following elements:

Vulnerable story - “Make me care.” If you intend to engage your readers you will need a hook. Each of your posts should attempt to hook your audience with a personal story that potential readers can relate to. Start each post with a story that is interesting and forces your audience to say “I need to keep reading”. Great posts will be able to continue this emotion throughout the entire post.

A meaningful title for your BLOG - This should be based on a theme (sports, travel, etc.) that you create for your blog. Be aware that this title may need to change if it is already taken. CHECK OUT THIS ARTICLE

A meaningful title for your first POST
– This is different than the title of your blog. Be sure your post titles are interesting, related to your theme, etc.

Visual Elements (min. 3) – ever noticed how an interesting web page has images? If your blog post is just a bunch of text, readers will be more likely to click away. Each one of your blog posts must include three visual elements. Visual elements may include images and or videos.

Hyperlinks (min. 3) – links are tickets out of your blog to interesting sites. A good post has a few of these and you should have no less than three hyperlinks.

Ask your readers a question - Typically I do this at the bottom of every post. Because blogging to me is a two-way communication event, I want to know what my readers are thinking. If I ask a question, they answer. And then I have the privilege of chatting back.

Length - Blog post should be 300 words or more.
